Our Membership Requirements

We made a historical change to our 89 year-old membership requirements in January 2010. We now include not only individuals who hold a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent degree from a foreign institution, in one of the mathematical, physical or biological sciences, or any discipline in which the scientific method is employed, but also those individuals who have a baccalaureate degree and who support the objectives of the organization.

Many of our members hold masters and doctoral degrees. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, in particular, can benefit from the advice and networking that GWIS can offer during this formative stage of their career.
