|Create a New Chapter|
Perhaps you’ve heard the phrase, “A rising tide raises all boats.” It’s something we believe in, and there is nothing quite like connecting with other passionate, like-minded scientists to share experiences and help lift you through and beyond your academic career. Creating a GWIS chapter will allow you to recruit those people, make an impact in your community, and develop a bond with other women scientists that will last a lifetime.
Creating a New Chapter is EASY!
Here is what you need to do to get started:
Step 1:Does a chapter already exist in your area? Check our chapter directory. If the answer is no, then move on to Step 2!
Step 2:Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to receive a package with detailed instructions. Our amazing membership committee chair will help you along the way to make sure the process is as smooth as possible.
Step 3:Recruit at least 7 charter members to serve as officers of the new chapter. These members must be GWIS members, so make sure you have your memberships up to date!
Step 4:Prepare the chapter establishment petition and the chapter bylaws. (This is easier than it sounds!)
Step 5:Get approved and receive $500 to help you launch your new chapter! It’s that simple!
