Three main events take place during our National meeting:
National Council Meeting
Held on Thursday
The official business meeting of the National GWIS organization. National Council members, including all elected and appointed members, are highly encouraged to attend. Members interested in leadership positions are invited to attend and learn how GWIS operates on the National level.
National Grand Chapter Meeting
Held on Friday
The supreme governing body of the organization consisting of the National Council and the delegates from each chapter. All members are invited to attend and participate in the National Grand Chapter meeting. This meeting consists of reports from each chapter, as well as a discussion of present and future National activities.
Held on Saturday
Members attend a series of lectures by prominent scientists, ranging from professional development seminars and career panels to tips on grant writing and talking science with the public. Attendees are also encouraged to share their own research during the poster session. There are plenty of opportunities for networking as well!
