Accepting Honorary Membership Nominations

We all know of women in the scientific community who are all-stars. Whether you saw them give a sublime presentation at a conference or have had the opportunity to interact with them personally, these women embody what GWIS stands for. Now is your chance to nominate this very important person for the Honorary Membership Award. We have three named awards, one for research, one for teaching, and one for early career scientists (less than seven years post PhD graduation). Nominating your choice couldn't be simpler! Just fill out the nomination form and hit submit! Why not nominate an amazing woman scientist today?
Fellowship Applications

We will start receiving applications for the 2018-2019 Fellowships on November 1, 2017. The application deadline for all GWIS Fellowships applications will be 11:59 pm, Eastern Standard Time, January 12, 2018. Please visit our Fellowships program page for updates on application guidelines and instructions.

Chapter News
The Los Angeles chapter recently celebrated the new school year with a gathering "Summer Nights in the Garden" at the Natural History Museum. Members met and socialized with other fellows and enjoyed the flea circus and a botanical tour as well as some garden-infused cocktails. What a wonderful kick off for the semester!
The Greater Maryland chapter just had their very first GM-GWIS "I Made This" where everyone came and painted their own art. The event was very enjoyable as everyone got to showcase their creativity as well as connect with other members who share the same love for art.

The Northern Colorado chapter hosted a kick off event to welcome both old and new members at the Horse and Dragon Brewing Company. Everyone enjoyed their time reconnecting and getting to know new members. Best of luck with the upcoming year!
