Candidates for the 2018 GWIS National Office

If you are a member of the Grand Chapter, don't forget to vote in the National Officer Election. Voting members should have received instructions via email. The deadline for voting is June 15.

Join us at the National Conference on Diverse Science
in Iowa City June 15-16th!

The 2018 National Conference in Iowa City is finally here!

We are looking forward to welcoming GWIS members and friends to Iowa City for the annual business meetings and an exciting scientific conference including presentations about diversity, a panel session about diverse science careers, a poster session and competition, and a banquet with a Keynote address from Dr. Corrie Moreau, director and associate curator at the Field Museum of Natural History.

Registration will close on Friday, June 8th.

Same day registration will be available only for the daytime portion of the scientific conference, from 1pm-6pm ($10 for GWIS members, $15 for non-GWIS members, cash accepted at registration desk). If you want to attend the business meetings, our Friday welcome dinner, or Saturday dinner and our fabulous Keynote address, be sure to register before June 8th!

Upcoming Coffee and Conversations

This summer, we will slow down our coffee and conversations. We are excited to continue this mentoring program in the fall and hope to host a special pop-up coffee and conversation later this summer. Look for topics and dates in future GWIS news media!
Chapter News
Members of the Los Angeles chapter got together for the End of Year Celebration. Everyone had a great time with good food, drinks, and intelligent science lovers.

 
Chicago chapter recently hosted an industry career panel and facilitated the members to meet female scientists who work in industry and network with other female scientists throughout the Chicagoland area. Participants walked away with new insights about medical science liaison and consultancy
